Occupational Therapy

Our occupational therapy team utilizes comprehensive approaches to make a difference in all aspects of our client’s lives. We’ve added a sensory area for our wonderful therapists to use throughout their sessions. At CCSH we treat the whole individual for increased independence and self-confidence. We use a variety of therapeutic approaches and techniques including but not limited to, Interactive Metronome, Therapeutic Listening, DIR/Floortime, UNC TEACCH strategies, the Wilbarger Deep Pressure and Proprioceptive Protocol (“brushing”), Kelly Mahler’s Intereoception Curriculum, Michelle Garcia Winner’s Social Thinking Curriculum, to help our clients achieve their goals! Common areas our OT address include but are not limited to fine, gross, and visual motor skills, self and emotional regulation, sensory processing skills, motor planning, bilateral coordination, global strengthening, functional life skills (i.e. dressing, simple meal prep, etc.), executive functioning skills, written expression, handwriting, keyboarding, and so much more!
